In life and in business, success often hinges on a single mindset: doing whatever it takes. It’s not always glamorous. It’s rarely easy. But time and again, it’s the difference between falling short and breaking through. Whether it’s a company navigating economic turbulence, a hockey team clawing back from the brink, or individuals walking 100 kilometers to support mental health, the same principle holds true.

1. Businesses in Survival Mode: Grit in Economic Headwinds

In today’s volatile economy, business leaders are being tested like never before. Inflation, shifting consumer demand, and global uncertainty have forced many companies to tighten budgets, rethink strategies, and make difficult choices. Yet the ones who endure — and even thrive — are the ones willing to do whatever it takes to serve their clients, support their people, and adapt to change.

This might mean pivoting product lines, restructuring teams, or embracing new technologies. It means showing up, even when the outlook is uncertain. It means resilience, resourcefulness, and relentless commitment — not to comfort, but to purpose.

2. The Toronto Maple Leafs: Still Fighting

As of now, the Toronto Maple Leafs are down 3–2 in their second-round playoff series against the Florida Panthers. Their season is hanging in the balance — every shift, every play, and every decision now carries the weight of elimination.

While it has yet to be seen, the only path to coming back in the series is the mentality that they can’t give up. They have to find a way to push back, tighten their game, and shown a refusal to quit. Because even without knowing how the story ends, they need to embody what it means to do whatever it takes: playing with heart, urgency, and grit in the face of adversity if they want to give themselves a chance. Whether or not they complete the comeback, their effort reminds us that resilience isn’t just about results — it’s about how you show up when the odds are against you.

3. Walking 100KM for Mental Health: Commitment Beyond Comfort

There’s no metaphor needed when it comes to walking 100 kilometers in support of mental health — that is doing whatever it takes. That’s what the participants of the Movember 100KM challenge are doing: putting one foot in front of the other, kilometer after kilometer, to raise awareness and funds for a cause that matters deeply.

It’s not about personal glory. It’s about persistence. It’s about showing up — not just for the distance, but for the message. That mental health is health. That it deserves attention, conversation, and support. These walkers are proving that advocacy can be physical, emotional, and deeply personal.

Doing Whatever It Takes — Every Day

These stories come from different worlds — business, sport, and personal endurance — but they’re united by a common thread: when the stakes are high, when the path gets hard, some people dig deeper. They stop at nothing. They find a way.

At CEO Law, this mindset inspires us. It’s how we want to show up for our clients. It’s how we support each other as a team. And it’s how we believe progress happens — not all at once, but through the daily decision to keep moving forward, no matter what.

What’s your version of doing whatever it takes? Whether you’re leading through a downturn, chasing a goal, or standing up for what you believe in — we’re cheering for you!
