Legal Services can vary significantly in price. Are you overpaying? Most companies are!
KEY INSIGHTS FROM DANIELA LECO, AUTHOR OF “HOW NOT TO GET SCREWED BY YOUR LAWYER” AND LEGAL TRAILBLAZER STEVE MONK, FOUNDER OF CEO LAW
Recently Steve and Daniela got together to discuss important issues, like how to pay less for a lawyer and how to build a relationship with the lawyer you select to work with.
One of the reasons people are overpaying for legal services, is that they aren’t aware there are alternatives to traditional law firms.
It’s a mass adoption problem. As ALSPs have grown, there has not been a clear pathway for clients to follow. There is a lack of clarity on what an ALSP is, and what can be handled by an ALSP.
As a result, businesses either overpay for a lawyer from a traditional law firm, or they don’t get the legal services and support they need.
CEO Law is working to help increase exposure for ALSPs so more businesses can access a more affordable option that will deliver the results they need.
“I think that yes, customers should get access to low cost legal support, but they also deserve great quality. And nobody really wants a cheap lawyer. I always say they want a great lawyer at great value.” – Steven Monk, Founder of CEO Law.
For those that don’t understand the value of ALSPs, it helps to think of ALSPs as the legal equivalent of Uber – it’s a new model that works for both sides. It is more cost effective and there is a better experience.
We don’t see many people using cabs these days, Uber is a better option. When ALSPs reach mass adoption, people will look at traditional law versus ALSPs in the same way.
“The whole premise of the ALSP market is that we can provide more specific, better, value service for lower cost.” Daniela Liscio.
Here is a great visual that shows why the ALSP model is able to offer pricing that is lower than traditional lawyers.

Take a minute to share with any colleagues or friends that you think would benefit from the cost savings of working with an ALSP.
